The day out of Collie begins in Westralia Conservation Park. This wildflower mecca is a highlight for plant and orchid lovers. You can walk the spur trail back out or catch a taxi to the cemetery, then walk up to the track.

The hike from Yabberup to Noggerup takes you through varied terrain: native forest and pretty farmland, along a dam and a section of railway track, plus another fabulous little National Park with plenty of wildflowers.

Noggerup to Grimwade is a tough day, with a relatively long distance combined with significant elevation gains. But there are many wildflowers and new orchid species to be found in the leafy forests, which are a joy.

Today is fun and a relief after yesterday’s challenges, with many smaller ups and downs and an overall descent. You’ll also see more orchids and swathes of wildflowers in spring.
