Mt Field West Circuit Day 2

An early start from Clemes Tarn to Mt Field West, before you retrace your steps to K Col Track, then across scree to The Watcher’s hulking face, along boardwalk to a plateau scattered with dozens of shining tarns. After crossing Newdegate Pass, you descend to the Lake’s northern outlet and its historic hut filled with memorabilia , on then to Twisted Tarn before reaching beautiful Twilight Tarn.

Mt Field West Circuit Day 3

You continue to follow Lake Newdegate Track east through subalpine woodland, then head south on Lake Webster Track. Next is a short section gravel road that forms part of the Pandani Grove Nature Walk, before you return to your starting point at Lake Dobson Carpark. Enroute you’ll pass two spur trails, plus at least one unmarked route. It is a relaxed end to a superbly varied hike.
