Stirling and Porongurup Ranges
The Porongurup Range and Stirling Range National Parks in the southwest of Western Australia have some amazing day walks where you’ll climb steep peaks with 360-degree views. And along the way you’ll pass unique wildflowers including native orchids: a truly enriching experience for leisurely hikers.
Mt Barker, South Australia
Lovely views in all directions along this wildflower rich hike to and around Mt Barker summit, South Australia. An ideal short day hike or hike with young children.
Warrie Circuit Hike, Springbrook National Park
The Warrie Circuit is a delightful circuit day hike with waterfalls, rainforest, rainbows and rivulets.
Kaitjaba Hill (Stamford Hill) Hike, Lincoln National Park
As the highest landform in the park, Kaitjaba is visible throughout Lincoln National Park. The views from the top are stunning in every direction, which is no doubt why the walk is one of Australia’s Great Short Walks.
The hike can be done as a simple 1.8 km out and return on a smooth walking track with a few shallow steps, or as a longer 5.8 km circuit, with the descent being narrower and more rough. We did the 5.8 km circuit.
