The Grampians Peaks Trail from Werdug to Halls Gap follows along the edge of the main escarpment with vast easterly views, followed by a long descent through forest and ferns.
The standard northern section consists of four days walking with three overnight stays in designated camping areas. This section is the easiest of the hike, nevertheless there is still plenty of elevation gain and loss, and the climbs are typically steep.
