Leave Rocky Gully and traverse numerous small ups and downs as you cross the Alice Valley with endless wildflowers before finishing at serene and peaceful Hugh Gorge with the possibility of a refreshing swim.
Hugh Gorge to Fringe Lily involves scrambling, wading or a short swim through a spectacular remote gorge with large boulders and plenty of wildflowers.
From Fringe Lily you traverse a magnificent scrambly spine with grand views then plunge down steep bouldery gorge finishing along a beautiful V shaped valley to Section 4/5 Junction (or Birthday Waterhole).
This predominantly downhill hike takes you through some of the most spectacularly rugged landscape of the entire Larapinta trail, with vast tilted landforms and folded, interlocking ridges. You’ll follow Brinkley Bluff gently down and eastwards towards Standley Chasm with views the entire way.
Ironstone plains, interesting geology, stunning wildflowers and spectacular ridgeline views and sunsets
